Daryl Uhlenberg works alongside his two brothers, Chris and Tony, in a transport company that was established by their parents, Mike and Carol Uhlenberg, in 1966. Based in Taranaki, New Zealand, Uhlenberg Haulage Limited, transports specialised freight which requires precision and special care to ensure damage free, on-time deliveries with no compromise on safe practices. They specialise in Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG), refrigerated and bulk goods transportation.
Their fleet of 30 modern Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks and assorted tankers and trailers is maintained to the highest possible standards. The Uhlenberg’s insure their valuable fleet with NTI for a range of reasons.
“We’ve been with NTI for approximately four years now,” Daryl said. “The insurance company we were with before that was the one Dad signed up to use back when he started the business. So you might appreciate the decision to change insurers after such a long association was a big one for us.

“The standards have been very high on work that NTI repairers have completed. The assessor knows trucks – he’s always authorised our repairs very quickly, and even though we know we’re in the hands of a good repairer, he checks everything over before the truck comes back to us.
“Downtime is always minimal. NTI know how detrimental it can be for a business to have a truck off the road.”

“All we have to do is pick up the phone and let NTI know what’s happened. If there are third parties involved in the incident, NTI take care of that side of things too.”
Daryl appreciates that NTI take away the worry and allow him and his brothers to get on with what they do best, and that’s running their business.
